Stone Masonry Bath

Stone Masonry & Supply

Stone Types

We are able to supply only or supply and fix stonemasonry units in local Bath or Cotswold Limestone and also limestones and sandstones from further afield including York and Portland. Foreign stone, particularly French Limestones can be sourced from our network of suppliers.

For new build works it is possible for us to work from Architects drawings producing working drawings from their designs for approval before manufacture. On smaller works such as restorations where individual replacement units are needed we will carry out site surveys to ascertain dimensions and template details. On such projects we will advise on a replacement stone type. This may not always be a like for like replacement as some stones are no longer available or are clearly not suitable for that situation. A recommendation will be made to match stones for both aesthetics and weathering purposes.

Previous New Build Fixing Project

Orangery, Private House, South Somerset- This was a sub-contract fixing project for a local stone company who supply a lot of our stone. The Orangery has a fluted frieze and pilaster detailing and was worked in Bath Stone from Corsham.

Current New Build Fixing Project

This door surround is being added to an existing property. It is a classical design worked by a local supplier in Hartham Park Bath Stone. The surround is anchored to the original structure by way of stainless steel fixings which are designed specifically for each job. The mortar is hydraulic lime based and pointing is a traditional lime and stone dust mix.
